However, the Middle Eastern or Egyptian "style" mx made the station sound like it could well be Cairo. But what really makes it appear to be Radio Cairo, is the wildly distorted and overmodulating audio. Unable to confirm topics, as I am unable to understand Islandic. Although the transmission heard was in usb, and did end at approx 23.33 utc, (sched. 23.00 - 23.35 utc), I didn't detect an ID so I have logged it as presumed. / Note: This frequency is also alleged to be used by "Friendship Radio" for test transmissions from international waters, but I have yet to hear the station myself and remain scepitcal of it's authenticity...?
